Strand Nygård joins Delphi

Halvor Strand Nygård has been been hired as a new member of Delphi's portfolio management team. For the past nine years, Nygård has been an analyst with SEB, focusing on the energy sector.

Delphi is in a good trend and we are now further reinforcing our expertise by hiring Halvor Strand Nygård (who will start work on 2 June). He has a solid background from SEB and will, together with Andreas B. Lorentzen, manage Delphi Nordic.

– Halvor Strand Nygård will further strengthen our portfolio management team's knowledge of both the traditional energy and renewable energy sectors. The latter is becoming increasingly important, and Halvor will play a key role here in relation to all the funds. As regards the teamwork between Andreas and Halvor, Andreas will continue to be the lead manager, while Halvor will be a manager with a special focus on traditional and renewable energy, says Bård Bringedal, investment director of Storebrand Asset Management AS.

Halvor Strand Nygård

Nygård has a master's degree in finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). The Prospera Survey in 2019 ranked him as one of Norway's best analysts in his professional field.

– I'm very much looking forward to joining Delphi Funds. Although the Nordic region will be my investment area, the clear goal is for my expertise to benefit all the funds. Today, energy is just as much about the sun, wind and water as it is about oil and gas. Delphi has a clear desire to be part of the green wave, and I find that very exciting, says Halvor Strand Nygård.

The Delphi Way applies

Their proximity to the Nordic companies means that Delphi's managers have a very good starting point to get to know the companies and their management and business models. Increased management capacity is important for this work. At the same time, the Delphi Way will continue to govern the selection, which means that both the trend analysis and fundamental analysis must be positive before any investment is made.
